I have nothing but positives to say. Luke and Roxanne, your hosts, pick you up in Homer and take you via their boat to Bear Cove…an amazing ride. Bear Cove is gorgeous with amazing views, bedrooms with its own bathroom and comfy beds and yummy food which will surely include your catch.
I had the privilege of experiencing Bear Cove Retreat in June of 2022 and what an experience it was! The cozy accommodations complete with delicious meals and hot saunas to the 360° breathtaking views of Alaskan nature while drinking coffee on the pier (my favorite), boating on the water, or hiking the landscape all…
Our stay with Lucas and Roxanne in September 2024 was absolutely amazing! We wanted to do a lot of fishing, and catching fish is what we did. Our hosts were truly friendly and welcoming from the time we inquired about the trip, all throughout our stay, and even after we returned home.
Our stay at Bear Cove Retreat was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, Roxanne and Luke made us feel completely at home. Their warmth and hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable experience.
Getting married at Bear Cove Retreat
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
