I'd heard of Camp Arrowead but never realized it was an actual [children's] camp and not just a place on the map. My wife and I drove through the woods towards the bay until we saw the sign next to the road.
Amazing camp. I went last year and it was very fun. They had lots of activities you can do that you can't do at regular day camps. Their food is really good and they offer various types like gluten free, or food for diets. They have vegetarian options to.
Nice cabin with electric. Good restroom and shower house. Dining hall is new and fantastic. Cafeteria style food with dessert. Go back as many times as you want. Was here for kayaking and beach launch was good. Camp personnel made bonfire on beach each night. Sunrise was fantastic from their beach.
Camp Arrowhead sits on the bay with Sandy beaches. We hiked along the beach and through the woods. It is an Episcopal Church summer camp for kids.
Getting married at Camp Arrowhead
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
