I’m currently the parent of a 3rd year Skylemar camper who is now 9 years old and it is with great enthusiasm that I share this review! My sisters and I all attended all-girls camp for years up in Maine and my late father was a Maine camper and counselor.
Skylemar is truly one of the most special places on Earth. The people that gather on its beautiful landscape are some of the kindest and most genuine humans this planet has to offer. I recently got married and 5 of my groomsmen I am proud to say I met at Camp Skylemar.
Went to a wedding weekend here & it was fabulous! From the grounds to the food to the activities to the staff to the accommodations everything was top notch.
Getting married at Camp Skylemar
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
