“The place was gorgeous, the room had a bed that was propped up (safely and securely) on an old boat, and from the bed you have a great view of the Salinas River.”

Lovely inn with an amazing view. So authentic and peaceful. In a little town and with a magnificent beach. Even seals and otters make an appearance along with birds and surfers. Ate a great reuben at Phil's snack shack
Oh Captain, my Captain! Moss Landing is such a hidden treasure, and this was an amazing way to spend the night! The view, the soaking tub, the bed, the decorations, the viewing deck... it was all wonderful to experience! Watching the birds and the otters in the Slough was spectacular!
The Captain's Inn is such a special place to us. This is our second visit and we have decided we will be needing to come back yearly! They have secured us as lifetime customers. The themed rooms are so cute and the views are incredible. There is nothing more peaceful than waking up to all the birds calling.
My husband booked a little weekend getaway for us here. Perfect place to stay if you're here for whale watching. Value for the rooms seem great as well. I was surprised by how peaceful and quiet our whole stay was.
Getting married at Captain's Inn at Moss Landing
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
