From the reviews
Out of our entire LA/SD trip, I never expected this hotel to be the highlight! It has so much local character—the grounds are lush with plants and trees, and there are even adorable macaws on-site. While the rooms are a bit dated, they are by no means in bad shape.
Stayed there May 2026 for 4 nights. For that area, the room rate and quality were matched well. Am glad I chose the Catamaran over the Bahia and the Dana (have stayed at the Dana before).
Pros: Amazing location! We had a wonderful family getaway! The hotel is beautiful! The tropical plants, koi fish, turtles and parrots were a fun experience! Heated pool and hot tub was a perfect way to end our fun-filled day. Easy access to the beach. The food at Oceana was delicious and wonderful service!
Love, love, love Christina for pool side service! Omg this gorgeous lady made our day; my bf and I are locals and came here excited to celebrate his bday. 15min prior to the pool side restaurant closing, another server actually refused to take our order:( A manager did intervene, we met Christina- WE LOVE HER ALOHA🤍…
Getting married at Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
