I looked all over the Oregon coast for an ocean view room with a Jacuzzi, none looked quite like the experience that the Channel House offered. I booked room #2 The Captain's quarters for a romantic getaway, and it exceeded any expectations I may have had. The view and privacy were flat out amazing.
Been staying at this wonderful hotel for the past 29 years as of today (spent our honeymoon here), and have enjoyed it every time. Rooms are still in great shape with upgrades made over the years. Highlights are the views, the location, private decks with jacuzzi tubs, and fireplaces in the rooms!
Sad that it is closing soon for renovations... excited to see the upgrades when it reopens! Awesome views and the hosts are the best. Love this place.
Like I died and went to oceanic view heaven. This place was so perfectly perfect. Warm, quiet, tucked away, facing the entrance to the depoe so that I could sit on the couch or bed or IN THE HOT TUB and watch the ocean literally yards away. I am so grateful I found this discreet jewel.
Getting married at Channel House
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
