I booked a 2 hour private sailing lesson as a wedding present for my husband on our honeymoon. We had a great time during his lesson, and it was a very fun experience. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you’ve never tried sailing.
I was there attending a wedding on the upper deck. It has an open veranda and indoor area for functions overlooking the intercoastal. Beautiful place for an event. When I arrived the Sailing Center was closing up for the day but I saw lots of young students learning how to handle boats.
In Clearwater on holiday, hired a 420 and a couple of kayaks. Office staff so friendly and helpful getting set up and had great support from the guys on the beach setting us off and bringing us in. Lovely spot for a sail/paddle.
We held our event here for our wedding. It was beautiful and the girls in the front were amazing with communication and helping us get everything in place that we needed in place thank you again for helping us prepare.
Getting married at Clearwater Community Sailing Center
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
