Amazing view from this lodge! Great location. Close to everything from food to various hikes. Only issue was our rental smelled bad. We ended up becoming nose blind to it but the smell was there everytime we walked into the home. It was the Harbor House, one of the spots that’s separate from the hotel.
We had a fantastic stay at Cove Point Lodge Fjord Southwoods Bunk private cabin. Everything was new, super clean and wonderfully quiet which made it such a restful place. The view of Lake Superior was absolutely gorgeous and we woke up to a beautiful sunrise right through the bedroom window.
Cove Point Lodge feels like a great little secret spot to relax. We stayed in the Bears Den cabin. It had a wonderful view, very cozy, clean and had all the amenities! So relaxing & beautiful! Everyone was helpful in the actual lodge & very friendly. Lots of activities & games.
Third floor, gorgeous view of the lake. Staff was so friendly! Room was very comfortable and quiet and clean, with a microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator. They have DVD's you can take to your room. Fixings for smores in the lobby and coffee 24/7 set up in the lobby. Did I mention how friendly the staff was?!
Getting married at Cove Point Lodge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
