This is the nicest place I've stayed before. I just took myself and my 2 kids here for a little 4 day getaway and we all loved everything about it! From the clean, colorful, nice room to the private beach. The bonfires on the beach every night if you want one and the superb customer service of this establishment.
My family and I have been coming up to Tawas for Memorial weekend for 25+ years and about 7/8 years ago we found Crystal Sands and it’s been the best decision we’ve made as a family. With the accommodation of fitting a family of 45+ people, we’re able to have fun, enjoy the beach, water activities and more.
This place was amazing! My family and I went for a 5 day get away from reality and we loved this place! The staff is amazing, the owner is the sweetest, and the overall rooms were splendid! They were clean, and I felt as if we walked into our own home.

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
