Sooo picturesque! Our favorite spot for a relaxing picnic lunch at the beach. Grab one of the benches right on the Boardwalk, and sit, relax, enjoy ťhe ocean breeze on a comfy 75F summer afternoon. A busy Saturday and we were very lucky to pull into a parking space right on the boardwalk!
Imagine starting your day in a coastal paradise, with the gentle rhythm of the waves as your soundtrack. Welcome to Cuvier Park, an exquisite spot nestled right by the ocean. With sweeping, majestic views that seem straight out of a postcard, this place is an absolute treat for the senses.
So amazing! We sat on some rocks and the seals kept coming too close to us so we had to wait until they were all situated and no longer moving before we climbed over the rocks to get away from them. The water was super clear and the beach was pretty clean.
Epic location, especially when the weather is clear! Views up and down the coastline. When you find parking, so easy to go from your car to the grass bluff for a picnic, or just a nice sit. One of the best places in the San Diego area to watch a sunset!!! Definitely worth a visit when in the area!
Getting married at Cuvier Park
Cuvier Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
