From the reviews
We had a wonderful time here the past couple days! This place shows the real beauty of Florida. The cottages are not upscale. They give you a taste of old Florida. They are peaceful, clean, and comfy. If you are looking for a big fancy motel this is not the place for you.
I always used to be anti-Florida; then, 6 years ago, I discovered Englewood and The Englewood Lighthouse Resort. When I arrived on that long-ago day, I was greeted with a lovely note written by the owners' young daughter, along with homemade cookies and a hand-drawn map of the property.
This place is amazing if you're looking for something close to the beach but away from the crowds. The cottages take you back to how staying at the beach should be before all the high-rise hotels. The owners, Larry and Lisa really make you feel at home and welcomed.
The family vacation was the best this year - we rented all the cabins and fully enjoyed the pool and amenities. Great beach getaway !
Getting married at Englewood Lighthouse Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
