The Rod & Gun is truly one of a kind! We’ve visited several times over the past eight years, including a memorable Thanksgiving stay with our two adult sons. Each trip has been a joy, and the memories we’ve created there mean so much to us.
How many places make you feel good the second you walk through the door? Many years ago I found this place just 'going down the road' and I've returned and returned and returned. Great family-run unique hotel/restaurant....drinks and view....and most of all, just being comfortable.
Stayed at the Rod and Gun club for night prior to a fishing trip. Loved the authentic old Florida charm! This place is the real deal and excellent location. Room was super clean and comfortable except it is was cold outside and the heater in the room didn’t work too great.
We came for dinner and it was delightful. Food and service were very good. The old world charm and view from the deck were what really made it special. Add in the history and local feel and it is definitely worth a visit.
Getting married at Everglades Rod & Gun Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
