This is a very impressive place. The campus has a ton of buildings. The history in the Quillen building is great to see. The food court was great. Food options were good for adults & kids. The rooms are a little basic and out dated but we weren't there for the room.
This beach is open to dogs all day long on leash however, if they like to swim and come when called you can let them off. We were staying in old orchard beach but took our dogs here swimming daily during our vacation. Low tide is amazing because it is so low and there is so much room for you and them to run and wade.
Love this beach! You’re close enough to Old Orchard Beach to see the fireworks during the summer time every Thursday night, but far enough to avoid the crowds. Also love that it’s dog friendly!
This is a campground (that was unclear to me from the Google Maps description, so I'm clarifying it here). It is just next to a beautiful beach. There is a dining hall with good food, an ice cream shop, a playground, and fields. The whole thing is significantly better than your typical KOA for the same price.
Getting married at Ferry Beach Retreat & Conference Center
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
