I attended a wedding at Firehouse some 8 years back or so now and at that time couldn't imagine getting married but if I did, it would've been at a beautiful venue like that. Fast forward to 8 years later and we got married at Firehouse. My wife fell in love with the venue as soon as we pulled up.
From the moment my wife and I walked through the doors at Firehouse we were in love with the location! It was the tin roof ceiling, then the spiral staircase, the large sink-in tub, and all of the decor details that just had us swooning and ready to start planning our whimsy vintage themed wedding here.
Firehouse Chicago is magical! My husband and I got married here on August 29th, the Friday of Labor day weekend and we had the best day of our lives! We toured a few places a year prior and when we left our tour for Firehouse Chicago, we just knew this must be the place!
We got married at Firehouse Chicago last weekend. It was an absolute dream. I am a perfectionist, and hard to please. I'm always thinking about what could go wrong and find it hard to trust others to take care of things.
Getting married at Firehouse Chicago
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
