HANDS DOWN THE BEST LIFE CHANGING DUNGEONESS CRAB EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!! Okay, so I might sound over dramatic. However, if you decide to go on an Alaskan cruise, trip, or whatever the reason. This should not be missed if you’re a fan of crab legs. I booked this tour with Alaska shore excursion before my cruise.

Our visit to George Inlet Lodge was the highlight of our time in Ketchikan and offered a wonderful combination of scenery, wildlife, hospitality, and good food. The experience began with a boat ride across the inlet to check Dungeness crab traps and learn more about the local fishery and marine life.

There are a lot of stairs but they have a cart that can pick people up from the top. It's a beautiful location. The person in charge of our group was friendly and taught the inexperienced the proper way to eat dungeness crab. The meal started with a salad and then they gave each person a single cluster of crab legs.

The whole experience was well worth it! It was a cloudy but it didn't ruin our day! The staff was friendly and very helpful. We got to see a bald eagle up close and pulled up some dungeness crab. After we had a delicious feast at the lodge. Bring your A game, they have a fun contest!

Getting married at George Inlet Lodge

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
