From the reviews
We just returned from our 3rd stay at the Glacier Bay Country Inn and will soon begin planning our 4th. There are several reasons we keep returning to this slice of southeastern Alaska paradise. The inn is set about a mile from the highway with a clear view of the 15,000 foot Mount Fairweather.
From the moment we arrived at Glacier Bay Country Inn we were met with warmth, kindness, and infectious enthusiasm and passion from the staff! Jana and her team are organized, thoughtful, and show meticulous attention to detail.
This is an amazing place to visit and fish. We limited out on halibut each day with largest around 62 inches. The scenery is indescribable as one of God’s creative masterpieces. The staff at the lodge were some of the best and friendliest that we have ever experience.
The staff were super nice and helpful. The lodging was very comfortable and food great. The Halibut fishing was as good as advertised. The staff do an excellent job of vacuum sealing, freezing, and packaging for travel.
Getting married at Glacier Bay Country Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
