I had my wedding at the Boat House and Nicole was an absolute dream to work with. I am from Minneapolis, so we worked together mainly over email. She handled every single detail with extreme positivity and professionalism! Day/weekend of wedding she handled things absolutely seamlessly.
I hate to give away secrets but they deserve it. Fabulous resort with a multi-million dollar view. Hotel style rooms to updated cabins. Beautiful landscaping, multiple high end restaurants, pool/spa, protected lake swimming and high end sauna. No add on fees for activities on site.
Went to the Lodge for a classmates wedding. Six classmates from good ole Watervliet Michigan came to celebrate this joyous occasion.... hard to believe after graduating over 41 years ago, we stay in contact.... daily!!!!! They're just not classmates, they're brothers from another mother!!!!
The BEST stay in Door County. Every detail is perfect here. The view can’t be beat, the sunset views are amazing. The landscaping is beautiful and maintained so well. The cutest vintage bikes are included in the stay and they have miles of trails. They even include kayaks! The pool and hot tub were quiet and relaxing.
Getting married at Gordon Lodge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
