My husband’s and my stay was so much more than we imagined! Our hosts, Chad and Jennifer have built a beautiful estate that provides spectacular ocean views, lovely and comfortable rooms on a gorgeous property that is available to explore and unwind.
The Solar Suite and grounds were lovelier than we could have imagined. We spent our days traveling and taking in the sights, and having this beautiful place to return to was the best part of the trip.
This was our first trip to the Big Island and it was absolutely fantastic! Hale Laule’a is a beautiful place - perfect for a wedding, honeymoon, or any special celebration. The accommodations are top notch and super clean with breathtaking views.
We stayed at the Solar guesthouse and had an amazing time. My only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer and enjoy more of Hale Laule'a. Chad and Jennifer thought of everything when they created this amazing place. We saw dozens of spinner dolphins from the lookout area. Their dogs are an amazing welcoming crew.
Getting married at Hale Laule'a at Opihi Point
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
