It was great. Beach was empty. It was hot. It was nice to take a walk. Picked some rocks for my great nephew. It's nice just to sit and watch the waves.
$10 Dollar out of state parking, beach and a small bird sanctuary hiking trail. There are two beaches located on the property, one immediately next to the parking area and another at the opposite end of the park.
Fun pl;ace to visit. Beach, breakwalls, forest. All types of wildlife. Plenty of parking - not free.
Great park and well maintained beach - wouldn't go swimming on the Indiana side though on account of the industrial pollution right next door. Making Illinois people pay to park isn't exactly a nonpolitical thing to do unless you have a balance sheet to prove you're putting it back in the park.
