From the reviews
I booked with HPCH in early 2019 for a September 2020 wedding that was moved to September 2021 due to COVID. Many of the original wedding plans ultimately changed with the changing situation, but never once did I regret my choice of venue.
Attended a wedding at this venue. Plenty of parking, a very nice facility with a large hall and a parlor area perfect for the cocktail hour. The wedding was held on the grounds and although it was very hot the large trees provided shady areas.
I attended a wedding reception at this venue. The look, feel, and hospitality of the community center were outstanding and added a beautiful touch to the occasion. Ours was a catered event, but there is a full commercial kitchen facility on-prem should you have need of it.
We had the absolute best experience having our wedding reception at Highland Park Community House. Truly, it was perfect. We attribute that to the fact that Wendy, HPCH's Executive Director, is such a gem of a person, so easy to work with, very communicative, doesn't nickel and dime you, allows for flexibility, is…
Getting married at Highland Park Community House
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
