We stayed in the equestrian suite and it was gorgeous! great location and it was awesome being able to access the mansion too. Rooms were cleaned well and access was easy. The agency was fast and communicative.
A Winter Sanctuary: The Cotton Mansion Duluth, Minnesota If you are looking to escape the "post-holiday slump," there is perhaps no better refuge than the Cotton Mansion. Stepping inside on a grey, "jury" February day feels less like checking into a B&B and more like stepping into a gilded-age embrace.
The Mansion was incredible it had a lot of character and the service although done exclusively through text which I thought was strange at first but ended up being extremely efficient and actually made the stay there even more personal especially considering the fact that my wife and I stayed there for our one year…
As there isn't staff on site I can't speak on service. But communication was prompt and clear with detailed instruction on how to enter and park etc. Being a woman traveling alone I genuinely appreciate the location and the safety features they have in place for the building. It's also very quiet!
Getting married at Historic Cotton Mansion by Heirloom Hotel Collection
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
