From the reviews
Attended a wedding there! I it is a great location for a destination wedding! It has a great view of the harbour! The building has an on-site bar and dining hall!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception on 3/14/20 at the Historic Rice Mill. Everything turned out perfectly with the ceremony outside along the water with our roughly 120 guests. We heard tons of compliments about the venue, the views, the food and staff.
The venue was exquisite, especially to see the total eclipse of the sun on August 21, our wedding date. Jenna was FANTASTIC, we couldn't have had a better experience. She was always responsive, shared good ideas on decor, vendor options and had a calm about her that made me feel confident.
We hosted our winter wedding at The Historic Rice Mill in Charleston this past January. After a year of planning, it was the perfect day! Krista and the staff were absolutely amazing! The countless emails, meetings and texts…they were so appreciative! The venue is stunning and accommodated is so beautifully!
Getting married at Historic Rice Mill
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
