Even in January it is great to visit Otter Crest. The grounds are always beautiful and there is always something blooming. Wildlife, especially birds and seals are in view. Spring through fall you can see whale spouts. The crashing waves delight all. The staff is excellent, so very helpful.
The location is excellent as it’s only a couple minutes to walk down to the ocean, and the beach is secluded which we loved. This is the first place I have stayed where the pool is actually warm as advertised. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub with an ocean view. It was our favorite part of the stay!
We had a ground floor room right on the cliffs over looking the ocean. The view was magnificent!! The room itself was comfortable, albeit a tad dated, and some of the electrical outlets didn't work. We had a balcony which was perfect for having a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the ocean.
Getting married at Inn At Otter Crest
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
