Best staff around! Great views, love being back here! Great bathroom with 3 nice sized showers in the women’s! Lots of games, large grass areas with nets and other fun stuff! AND WATER VIEWS! Just minutes from the water and the discovery trail!
I really enjoy the cabins here. 1950 style with upgrades. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the bedding was clean. Even the blankets get washed each time. The only reason I didn't give it full stars is there are porchlights and yard lights on all night even though they could be turned off.
I stayed here during a group trip for one night, but I wish I stayed longer! The people I’ve spoken to on the phone were so nice when we were booking it and they were even nicer in person. I felt so welcomed and the site itself was so beautiful.
What a beautiful location and view. Stayed for our second time this week and loved it. Easy to find, had no problem getting into our pull thru spot with full hookups. Office staff were just super friendly and helpful. The store had super cute items. Walk to a restaurant just down the road.
Getting married at John Wayne's Waterfront Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
