Spending a few days here at Sunset Marine Resort to get away from the craziness in the world. The resort is no 5 star hotel and that's what is so cool about it. The cabin-like cottage we were in was a cozy reprieve and offered a great environment to relax and unwind. The other cool thing? No TV and it wasn't missed.
This was our fourth visit to Sunset and in all our visits we stay at The Landing. In my opinion it the best cabin to load and unload, has a nice roomy lawn and great place to sit around the fire and watch the sunset. There isn't a T.V.
As if the setting weren't spectacular enough, I opened the door to my cabin and was overwhelmed with its bright, cheery, nautical welcome! I felt instantly at home! Full of wildlife, excluding the human type, just perfect. The Bay is remote and quiet and the serenity infuses your soul with peaceful waves.
The Boat House is a little piece of heaven. Just steps from the beach. Pack light! Only foot traffic to the beach. Easy walk if you are not bringing the kitchen sink. If you have mobility issues, grab a cabin up top. The VIEW🤩💯 Great service from owners. It’s an annual trip for me. Look forward to it every year🥰🐾🐾
Getting married at Sunset Marine Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
