I am not sure why there is a bunch of negative reviews. But my boyfriend made reservations as a surprised and we had an absolutely amazing time. Wine was great. We each had a flight and brought a Cab Sauvignon. DELICIOUS! I can almost taste as I am writing this review. The view was impeccable.
Beautiful vineyard! Offers breathtaking views, overlooking the ocean. Picnic tables available, fresh oysters on Saturdays (summer) call ahead to confirm. Nice selection of wines. A must stop when in the North Fork. Ideal for a romantic date.
Today was my first time ever going to a vineyard so I don’t have much to base the experience on but Kontokosta is a beautiful venue located right on the water. The indoor area is spacious with different seating options but also has a cozy feel to it. I ordered the elderberry spritz and it was super refreshing!
This is easily our new favorite winery. An experience unlike any other long island vineyard. All the staff was extremely knowledgeable and kind, and the wines are very good! The view is beautiful, grounds are plentiful. It's a true hidden gem. It is absolutely worth the drive. Can't wait to go back!
Getting married at Kontokosta Winery
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
