On the property
“However, I called to the woman at front desk a couple days prior to my checkin date and she assured me I was in an "ocean view" unit and all units had been updated by their owners.”
What couples highlight
“We stayed in unit B304, and the views could not be more perfect - gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, Molokini on full display, palm trees, and a perfect beach.”
“The bugs are very tiny and they do spray, but I think they should spray more often because the property is right on the water, and the grounds are full of a beautiful gardens.”
From the reviews
I can't imagine a better place to relax. The beach was uncrowded in high season, there were giant turtles in the rocks all the time, there was enough surf for boogie boarding, and the condos are amazing. I kind of felt guilty staying here, it was so perfect.
There’s a rocky outcrop in front of the private resort that’s great for turtle snorkeling! Go early in the morning when visibility is high and the winds aren’t strong yet!
Fantastic location away from high rise crowds. Just steps from sandy beach, snorkeling, swimming pool and hot tub. Tennis and pickleball courts on property as well as workout room if you are so inclined. Surrounded by tropical gardens with herb gardens for guests to pick. Perfectly situated to view sunsets.
FANTASTIC, BUT WARNING: BOOK A TOP FLOOR ONLY--SEE BELOW. We stayed there for a week, May 8-14, 2019 in Unit F202. The grounds are immaculate and lush, the pool and jacuzzi lovely, and the tennis courts in perfect condition.
Getting married at Mākena Surf Resort - A CoralTree Residence Collection
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
