Clean, well kept rooms, 2 pools and nice fire pit area to relax in. Nice stargazing area and a beach in front of the resort. The gift shop has everything from souvenirs and clothing to ready to microwave meals, beverages, candy and ice cream. Excellent gift shop. There's a weight room and also a spa available.
Enjoyed our stay rooms were all in great shape. (Though through luck of the draw we ended up getting one of the level 1 rooms with view blocked with another marriot building) based on what I could tell maybe 90% of the rooms have a clear ocean view. that's my only negative comment.
Away from the big city, but with a mall close by with restaurants, its a nice get away, wonderful views of the bay from the restaurant area. great walking trails in the area that have petroglyphs. and if you want to wander into town, you have a wonderful view of the ocean as you drive south.
Amazing place. Loved the fish pond area in front of the beach. Sea turtles swap up to us in the water. Loved that they had pools at two temps. Restaurant and Bar aren't good. Timeshare salesman will repeatedly contact you. Other staff were great.
Getting married at Marriott’s Waikoloa Ocean Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
