I got married at Merrell Estate & Gardens on June 21 and I loved every second of it! They have at least three different ceremony sites located on the property and my Husband and I chose to get married by the sound- it was beautiful :).
Merrell Estates is AMAZING! It makes you feel like you’re having a destination wedding here in ENC. Liza and the staff are super accommodating, hospitable, and caring every step of the way. The venue itself is beautiful.
I recently got married at Merrell and it was an amazing experience from day one. I chose the venue without touring it (based on the beautiful photos). Liza was so very kind, patient, and helpful throughout the planning process. The wedding day was truly MAGICAL! The food was delicious and the cake was perfect!
Getting married at Merrell Estate and Gardens
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
