Under the new management, the Marina is definitely improving. It is getting a much needed cleanup, it is a nice Marina with kind people and nice surroundings. It has something for everyone from Boating to Beach to Wildlife and Bicycle Trails.
Great location to watch the boats and enjoy the waterfront. We went when there was an exotic auto show event, and had a great time. There is a biergarden during the summer hours, which is quite popular. It appears most of the folks wandering about are the owners of the hundreds of boats in the marina.
We've been here for over 12 years and since Suntex took over you can really see the difference in service and upkeep. The staff is extremely attentive and responsive to requests. They are all very friendly. New services have been added, boat & watercraft rental, kayaking, etc.
Went There Yesterday For The Celebration Of Winthrop Harbor's Venetian Night. Had A Great Time Eating, Drinking, and Listening To Some Go Ol' Music. At Night They Had The Lighted Boat Parade and Fireworks

First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
