Plenty of free public parking, great walking and biking trails, picnic tables and grills, pavilions and bathrooms. Great place right on the lake for picnic and beach time. Very empty the day we were there, beautiful place highly recommended.
Very nice location with plenty of available slips to rent for your "boat" (Motorboat, Sailboat; Yachys up to "?" size)). Metra access just a bit west of the Harbor (walkable; other?) for trains going N/S on the line to Kenosha/Chicago.
Beautiful place to see Lake Michigan and enjoy boat activity. Private club with friendly people. Membership open to boaters and non boaters. Great venue for weddings and corporate events
Beautiful setting on the shore of Lake Michigan. We attending a wedding and reception in the Club and the staff and accommodations were perfect for the occasion.
Getting married at Winthrop Harbor Yacht Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
