From the reviews
beautiful views from this historic spot.. " we got married in an old church on the side of a hill, overlooking San Francisco Bay.." that will be my story to my grandkids..
This is a neat historic church that offers nice views of the area. I didn't see inside. Parking limited. I wouldn't make a special trip just to see the church; however, incorporating other sites into the trip will make for a well rounded excursion - old train trestle display, old train depot, Blackie Statue, Lyford's…
Words can't express how much I love this little chapel on the hill, Old St. Hilary's. Landmark Society was so wonderful to work with and accommodating. We worked with Paige and she was such a delight and so wonderful to work with! The views from Old St. Hilary's are spectacular!
This is an amazing landmark, but also a beautiful site for a wedding. The views of the bay and the wildflowers are amazing, and the interior of the chapel is truly picturesque. (We especially liked the detail of the flowers embroidered on the seat cushions.
Getting married at Old St. Hilary's Landmark
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
