A great beach when you time it right. If the tide is up, there isn't much beach to speak of, so keep a lookout for the tide levels. Parking is very limited but only really an issue when it's a low tide on a really nice day (weekdays during typical business hours tend to be great though, especially during cooler…
Picnic Point Park is a relaxing and beautiful spot. We visited on a cloudy day, and it wasn’t crowded at all. Loved the peaceful beach walk and the views. However, there was a lot of seaweed along the shore, which made it tough to get close to the water without waterproof shoes.
I took my five-year-old here last night for the very first time. We had an absolute blast.. parking was easy and using the overpass over the railroad tracks was phenomenal. The beach was stinky because of the salmon season but, we still had an incredible time, throwing rocks into the water.
Picnic Point Beach in Edmonds, WA, is a hidden gem that deserves every one of its five stars. The beach offers stunning views of the Puget Sound, and the sunsets are truly breathtaking. It's an ideal spot for a family outing, with plenty of picnic tables and a well-maintained playground that keeps kids entertained.
Getting married at Picnic Point Park
Picnic Point Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
