From the reviews
Absolutely incredible experience staying here during the weekday. The atmosphere was peaceful, quiet, and relaxing with breathtaking ocean views everywhere. The staff provided exceptional service and made the stay feel luxurious from start to finish. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and very private.
Sierra Mar is an absolute fave! I make sure to visit every time I'm in Big Sur and consistently bring and recommend it to friends, family, and colleagues. The food and service are always fantastic. I love being able to walk through the garden where some of the ingredients are actually grown.
Simply unforgettable. Spectacular ocean views, exceptional service, beautiful rooms, and a peaceful atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Post Ranch Inn is a true gem of Big Sur and one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
Hi no hotel is perfect however I am giving a perfect score- People make the difference. The hotel grounds are spectacular. We came for that reason only and it delivered. Did we have some hiccups, yes, however the handling was exceptional. The hotel GM named DJ was one of the kindest people I have ever met.
Getting married at Post Ranch Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
