“The Inn is beautifully decorated and the views from the wrap around deck are breathtaking!”
“A great location, right on the water, although a bit chilly in mid-October we still had a lovely walk on the shore.”
From the reviews
It was one of the best places that you can stay. It’s extremely clean extremely friendly. We had a bonfire together with the other people that stayed. It’s a beautiful place right by the water. You can walk the beach. It’s extremely serene. Bonnie is the cook and her food is to die for.
This Inn is amazing! Every nook and cranny has something charming. From the moment you walk in, you are Wowed! The rooms are beautiful and very clean. Comfortable beds. The grounds are right on the lake with a beautiful beach and paths to walk along it.
Great location and good spot for a large group. Incredible views, ultra quiet town. Probably not the space for a bachelor party.
Everything at the inn was amazing. Erin and Elizabeth were friendly and welcoming. We loved the breakfasts made by Elizabeth both mornings. Erin provided great information regarding the bees and the Purple Martins along with making us comfortable during our stay.
Getting married at Purple Martin Lakeside Inn & Bird Sanctuary on Lake Huron
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
