From the reviews
Great park! They have a sandy beach with very few waves and current. It's great for smaller kids. There are many covered picnic tables throughout, as well as restrooms, showers, and all the seagulls you'd like to feed. It is $10 for the day or $40 for an annual pass. No dogs allowed.
Rockport Beach is stunning and ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and unwinding with family and friends. The beach is well-maintained, with calm and shallow waters, making it ideal for kids and those who aren't strong swimmers. There's a playground for kids, picnic tables, and grills for a fun family day out.
Its a great beach for families. If you pay to get in, go all the way down and there is a great place for swimming in the case that it is jellyfish season ( I know from experience) it is easy to get food delivered there as all the picnic tables are numbered. Dogs are welcome and a lot of people take their fluffy pets.
I love rockport beach. It’s so peaceful. It’s why I’m moving here with my lil family. I highly recommend either getting there early like 8am on weekends if I want a lil tiki umbrella to sit under. If you don’t mind sitting away from one then cool!
Getting married at Rockport Beach Park
Rockport Beach Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
