I like nature but I'm not into camping. However this place makes camping a breeze. Very convenient with all the amenities for an ocean front camp site. You just have to have access to the base.
I took a visit our here right after a windstorm and rain we had out here earlier this year. The assistant manager Mr. Cory was running around assessing the damage but still took the time to give me a tour and explain the process of renting the venue for my upcoming wedding.
Wonderful experience with the beach club! The staff is so friendly and Missy went above and beyond to help us get one of our belongings back after we forgot it in one of the cabins. Thank you so much! :)
The location is wonderful, but not easy to find. One big negative is the extremely high noise level inside. The large space was half empty but we could not hear speakers.
Getting married at San Onofre Historic Beach Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
