Update 4/17/24: We continue to visit Cannon Beach once or twice a year now, and SeaSprite is the only place my family or I will stay. I am sure the other places are lovely, but you just can't beat the access to the beach, the incredible views, the fun little rabbits, and the cute bungalows. And the staff!!!
Delightful. These cosy apartments were a delightful place to stay. Located as close to the beach as you would safely like to be they offer the sights and sounds of the coast right outside your window. Comfy and well maintained, I would highly recommend to anyone.
This was my happy place. I fell in love 2 seconds after arriving. Cozy, clean, everything we wanted. Ours was Lighthouse #4, directly facing the ocean. Haystack Rock was to our right. Lots of bunnies, seagulls right by us! A word of caution, the town Cannon Beach pretty much shuts down at 7 p.m. !
Have come here for years. Get room number three. Haystack Rock is right in the middle of the window. Very clean and very modern. Staff is very responsive. The lawn between the building and the ocean is filled with bunnies. The surface right out the front window.
Getting married at Sea Sprite at Haystack Rock
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
