What couples highlight
From the reviews
We really enjoyed our stay here. It's easy to find and in a nice central location. It's close proximity to the marina for boardwalk strolls and pleasant views. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There's a restaurant there that makes great food as well as a poolside bar.
Nice place for a family or couples vacation. Manager(Stacy) and staff were excellent. I would best describe this property as a throwback motor hotel from the 70's. Grounds could use some updating. Room/suite was what I would expect at a 3-star hotel. Had a nice vibe about it and was a fun place overall.
Very friendly staff and centrally located in the keys. Marathon had Sombrero beach, great restaurants and plenty of watersports. The resort has live music, great pizza and greek food and an outside bar.
We've stayed at Skip Jack multiple times and always enjoy. Convenient location, boat rental and slip easy peasy, great pool, restaurant and bar. This time we stayed in adjoining king suites which were extremely nice and lots of space!
Getting married at Skipjack Resort & Marina
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
