I recently stayed at St. James the weekend before Christmas and it was absolutely amazing! The villa was spacious and clean, and it had a laundry room! The location is remote, quiet, and very relaxing. The office staff and Crooked River Grill employees are very welcoming and friendly.
Big newer looking rooms. Nice that bottles of water provided. Voluminous emails of information confusing, yet worker at location lacked basic information, map and directions to specific unit absent. Maintenance of unit marginal( shower condition, leaky toilet flapper, finishes condition ).
The rooms and property were absolutely gorgeous. Spacious and very comfortable. However the coffee maker did not work, we lost internet for about 3 hours and could not reconnect to watch TV in the evening.
Getting married at St. James Bay Golf & Pickleball Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
