We really enjoyed our stay at Sun n Sand. We stayed in the Beach building. The adjoining bathroom connecting the two rooms was perfect for our family of 3 plus the dog. We were looking for a centralized spot to have as a hub while exploring another cool area in SW Michigan.
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim for a holiday weekend and it was so lovely! We needed a place that was dog friendly, and boy our dog loved sniffing around here. The grounds are very well kept, and the fire pits are a nice touch for night time.
Rooms were great, with the exception of the a/c going out after the first night. The receptionist was quick to get us into a different room. The amenities are very nice. Well cared for pool, fire pit area with multiple fire pits, corn hole boards, volleyball net, and grills available for use.
For what you pay, it's a pretty good deal. It's about 8min to Downtown South Haven, and it has a super cute pond out back. It's very pet friendly as well. The receptionist was very nice and helped us out when our door was a lil wonky. The rooms were clean, but pretty old.
Getting married at Sun 'n Sand Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
