There's a playground and basketball hoops for the kids, a big dog park by the river, kayaks and paddle boats, and a big community fire pit which the staff seems gets lit at night…
Wonderful resort that was very affordable and had awesome amenities. Loved the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Kids loved the play area. Were able to barbecue and cook dinners in the kitchens. The walk to the beach is pleasant and manageable and when you are there it is so much fun.
There were a few things we didn't like about the room and resort... The first was the fact that they said online that they had a pool open and the hot tub open and they were both closed. That was a real bummer. The other thing that bothered us was the ants.
We had several cousins and family taking up seven units for New Year's. With small children it was nice to have a grassy area right outside the sliding doors for them to frolic in. The staff are very accommodating and it's a pleasant walk to the beach.
Getting married at Surfcrest Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
