I love this cidery! I live in the Grand Rapids area, so I only get to visit every couple of years when I am in the area, but I make it a point to stop every time.
Suttons Bay Ciders is one of the places you can’t miss if you have a short amount of time in Traverse City or the surrounding area. As you can imagine it only serves different apple ciders with many imaginative flavors added. Including jalapeños, lavenders, and mints, at least as of summer 2020.
This place was a great find. It was nice to mix things up after going to so many wineries. I would highly recommend this place. The view was amazing and the people working here are fun and informative. I love that they like to mix up the drinks to make new concoctions. We will definitely return.
Gorgeous location with super friendly people. We met the owner and he was wonderful to us and our daughters. The bartender was also very friendly. The cherry cider was absolutely delicious! We absolutely loved visiting! Thank you, Mark, for your kindness. You really made our trip special!
Getting married at Suttons Bay Ciders
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
