From the reviews
The reviews are a bit skewed for this place. We booked our wedding with Terra Laguna Beach (though I do understand that they are a restaurant during the arts festivals) I cannot say enough amazing things about using Terra as our venue.
We recently had our wedding reception at Terra Laguna, and we couldn't be happier with how things turned out. Venue Coordinator, Devon: Very helpful in preparing the event and making sure it ran smoothly. Professional and attentive. Food: The food was excellent. Diverse menu and high-quality ingredients.
We have photographed a few weddings at Terra Laguna, and it never disappoints. Tucked in the hills of Laguna beach, it photographs really well! The bridal suite has great light for getting ready photos, and the ceremony site is tucked in the hillside which gives it a nice intimate setting.
Location: Good, Parking: when you can find it, Service: Good, Presentation: Good, Reservations: a wise choice closer to stage opening. Prices for food received: for being in the location I was in, I expected to pay a premium price for my meal. Knowing that, I did enjoy my dining experience.
Getting married at Terra Laguna Beach
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
