From the reviews
The 1774 Inn was the best wedding venue we could have ever asked for! While touring quite a few locations in Maine, the 1774 Inn was a last-minute stop before heading home - a recommendation from a local oyster shucker in Portland! The stars couldn’t have aligned any better.
We had our wedding at the 1774 Inn this past weekend and it was the most perfect, wonderful, amazing weekend of our lives. It is insanely beautiful and so many of our guests said it was the best wedding venue they had ever been to.
Our wedding at the 1774 Inn was a dream! Every aspect of the day was gorgeous, from the stunning waterfront view during our outdoor ceremony, to the beautiful driftwood arbor under which we said our vows, to the charming hay barn where we had our reception, and even down to the lovely handmade farm tables they…
We got married at the 1774 Inn a few weeks ago, and it was the most wonderful weekend. We were very grateful to spend multiple days at the Inn with our family and friends leading up to the wedding and then welcome everyone else on the day of the wedding.

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
