We had our wedding ceremony at the Akala Chapel and had the best experience! As we navigated COVID restrictions, the team at Akala Chapel kept us up to date with state/city mandates, and were very flexible as things continued to change rapidly in the days leading up to our ceremony.
We had a great experience with Watabe wedding Co. We worked with Runa and she made sure everything was perfect. We had our wedding in the Gazebo. The gals there were so helpful and made sure the whole day ran perfectly. Would recommend!
This place is amazing! From the beautiful chapel to the excellent service! Runa and her team from Watabe Wedding were so great to work with! The photographer, Natsumi, was also outstanding! All of them went above and beyond! My parents’ 50th Wedding Renewing of Vows was perfect because of them!
Getting married at The AKALĀ Chapel
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
