From the reviews
5/5 experience at The Island Resort. We had a great time from start to finish. The resort had a fun, relaxing atmosphere and felt like the perfect place to get away, enjoy the water, and spend time with family. Everything was clean, easy to get to, and the overall setup made the stay feel simple and enjoyable.
This place is great for families. A lot of stuff for kids to enjoy. There are bars located all over when parents need a break. Drinks are pretty expensive but its to be expected. The overall grounds is well kept and the pools are clean. Beach isn't bad.
Excellent beachfront resort with a fantastic location right on the Gulf. The beach was clean, beautiful, and only steps away from the hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and family-friendly.
Getting married at The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
