I was an aw the first time I shot a wedding at The Ivy room! The Ivy Room is nestled in the heart of downtown Chicago and hidden from view. The fact that it is hidden in plain sight makes it feel even more magical. Walking into the garden area you feel like you have been transported into another world.
The Ivy Room is better than anything I could have hoped and dreamed for, and the staff are amazing individuals! The venue itself is just gorgeous - we our wedding here in May 2021 and had our cocktail hour in the downstairs library / old club room and our dinner was outside in the courtyard.
We had our wedding here and it completely exceeded our expectations. It was during the height of COVID in 2020, so not everything went as planned or hoped but the staff were so nice and very informative about everything going on. The food was amazing and the grounds were so beautiful!
We had our wedding at The Ivy Room and it was absolutely amazing! The space is beautiful, and we loved being able to use both the cocktail area and the reception space. Claudia made everything so easy and truly took care of every detail.
Getting married at The Ivy Room At Tree Studios
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
