From the reviews
We had an unforgettable time on the 90-minute architecture tour with Chicago Lakefront Cruises. This tour was ideal for our family, offering not just a relaxing cruise along the river but also an insightful journey through Chicago’s storied architecture.
I would give five stars, but I was disappointed in the boarding process. My sisters (in from out of town) had bought tickets a week in advance from Groupon — I didn’t know my plan, so I waited. I called morning of and they said I can standby once I get there.
The tour was very informative, and David did an outstanding job as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, had a great personality, and kept us engaged with fun jokes along the way. You really get to appreciate the beautiful architecture of Chicago from the boat.
Went on the architecture boat tour as part of a girls’ weekend and we all agreed it was a highlight of the trip. Accessing the marina and boarding were both easy. The tour offered great views and photo ops.
Getting married at Chicago Lakefront Cruises
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
