We were absolutely amazed by our experience at the Lodge at Bodega Bay. We have very high standards for quality — coming from Ukraine, we’re accustomed to exceptional service — yet this stay exceeded our expectations in every way.
My wife and I spent 2 nights for our anniversary here in 2023 and we loved it. In room fireplace and one of the most comfortable king sized beds we'd ever slept on. The ocean view was beautiful and the grounds were beautifully landscaped.
Spacious rooms on a green hill with a beautiful sunset view. Fun outdoor hot tub and heated pool. Restaurant has good options, including vegan ones.
Just came back from 2 magical days at the Lodge. Clean, comfy and unbelievable views. Food was also very good at Drakes.
Getting married at The Lodge at Bodega Bay
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
